How do I make an appointment with you?Dr Laukens take consultations by appointment only. Please visit our Make an Appointment for more information on booking an appointment. Please note you will need to obtain a referral from your GP first. Please note we are currently not accepting patients in Bundaberg region.

What are your fees?Dr Laukens is a specialist and works in private practice, which operates on a fee-for-service basis. Fee schedule, MBS. There is out of pocket fee for all appointments, we do not provide a bulk billing service. Please contact the clinic to discuss the fee structure.

Do you do video consultations?Dr Laukens is available for telemedicine appointments, please note these are not bulk billed and will incur and out of pocket fee. Please make contact with us to book in a time.

Do i need a referral?Yes, we require your referral before you make your appointment. A referral can be faxed or emailed directly to us from your GP or specialist. Based on your referral we can offer you an appropriate appointment.

Do i need private health insurance?No, however, some services provided by Dr Laukens may be covered by your private health insurance. Please review your health fund policies to see exactly what they will cover.

Wha if i I need to cancel my appointment?We require at least 24 business hours notice for appointment cancellations or changes. You may incur a fee if you change or cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice.

What if i am prescribed medication?You may be asked to schedule a follow up appointment if your psychiatrist has prescribed a new medication or altered a dosage. It is important to ensure you attend Dr Laukens' clinic within the recommended time frame.

Do you disclose my information?In order to give the best, comprehensive care to you, we need full knowledge of patient health information from other professionals involved in you treatment. For this reason, health information may be shared with other health professionals, with your consent. A report is sent to your referring GP or Specialist after each appointment - you are welcome to request a copy of this letter. Some information about our patients is provided to Medicare and private health funds for the purposes of rebates and billing. We may also be required to disclose information for legal reasons, such as the mandatory reporting of some infectious diseases. Please see our Privacy Policy for further details on how we collect, store and share your personal information.

Can i access my information?You do have the right to access your health information and you can request to view the information and/or ask for a copy of all, or part, of your records. A small fee may be charged for this service. There are times when access to parts of your record, such as when it will affect the privacy of others. You will be advised in this case. If you are a parent of a child attending our practice please note that your child is also considered to have a right to privacy. As such, there may be times when parents or guardians only have restricted access to health information. If you believe your records to be incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to have them corrected. With your consent, your child's health information may be made available to other health practioners.
